Our name

Named for the boats that made the crossing

On the night of 25 December 1776, Washington's army crossed the ice-choked Delaware River to reach Trenton. They crossed in Durham boats: long, flat-bottomed freight boats that worked the river hauling iron ore and grain.

They weren't built for war. They were built to carry heavy loads through hard water, and that night they did exactly that. By the next morning the army had taken Trenton.

We look for businesses like those boats: sturdy, proven and built to carry weight. And we hold ourselves to the motto that goes with the name.
